“For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve others and give His life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
Serving is the very heart and nature of Jesus. While on earth, He met people’s physical and tangible needs. As servants of Christ, it is our belief that we should do the same. Simply put, we are able to identify more with the character of Christ when we serve others.
Why Serve Together?
- First, life was meant to be enjoyed in the context of community. When we participate with others in serving, we build strong relationships, while growing together in our walk with God.
- Secondly, there is exponential strength in numbers. We are just better…together. When we serve in teams, we combine our strength and become much more effective in advancing the cause of Christ.
- Lastly, we serve together because, no one person can single-handedly move the vision of the church forward. Cornerstone Church is a family of believers; and our church is not built on the gifts and talents of a few, but on the sacrifice and service of many.
What to Expect:
Our serving teams are made up of a diverse group of kingdom-minded people whose goal is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, driven by His heart to serve others. We have a “roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-the-job-done” kind of attitude. While there are several opportunities to use our gifts and talents to serve, we at Cornerstone are also ready and willing to do whatever it takes in moving the kingdom of God forward. There are several opportunities to serve weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly.
Here at Cornerstone, it takes approximately 150 people each Sunday and 50 people on each Wednesday to run our services. From nursery workers to coffee bar attendants, our staff strives for excellence in service.
